Those where the key attributes when ‘the tailored last’ footwear design consultancy was founded in 2008. Having worked in the footwear industry as a footwear designer & developer since early 2000 for UK,International and private brands/labels, the next logical step was to offer those skills that had been so carefully developed and defined to a wider audience.

Every project is different and understanding your needs and project requirements is something we believe is imperative to creating the right product for you & your brand. We have acquired extensive knowledge of the footwear design & footwear development process thru years of working in the footwear industry with some of the best UK & International footwear brands and footwear factories. We cover all aspects of the footwear design process from entry point to high end, casual, lifestyle, formal & safety footwear. From start up brands to international collections, we offer an end to end service.

We work on a freelance footwear design / project basis and offer a very competitive pricing structure. We can work in-house or via satellite location with your development team or chosen factory.

The tailored last is a creative freelance footwear design consultancy run by footwear designer Scott Wills.
Scott graduated with a first class honours in footwear design from the Somerset College of Art's & design in 2003 and went on to be  awarded 'accessories designer of the year' at the london graduate fashion week.
In early 2008 after working for branded and private label companies as a full time footwear designer , scott decided to set up 'The tailored last footwear design agency', to provide a freelance & project based footwear design service for branded and private label companies.

We manage all aspects of footwear design: from research, design, development and strategy to tech packs direct to your factory. We have over eleven years experience in footwear design & development, and have experience with developing footwear first hand with footwear factories in Europe & the Far East including India and Taiwan.
